Prayers

Prayer is an encounter with God. God thirsts for us as we thirst for Him.  What if we do not know how to pray.   Jesus tells us: This is how you are to pray:

Our Father in heaven,
hallowed be your name,
your kingdom come,
your will be done,
on earth as in heaven.
Give us today our daily bread;
and forgive us our debts,
as we forgive our debtors;
and do not subject us to the final test,
but deliver us from the evil one.  (Matthew 6:9-13)  For more about prayer: attachment

Begin with the Sign of the Cross then

O Jesus, through the Immaculate Heart of Mary, I offer You my prayers, works, joys and sufferings of this day for all the intentions of Your Sacred Heart, in union with the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass throughout the world, in reparation for my sins, for the intentions of all my relatives and friends, and in particular for the intentions of the Holy Father. Daily Readings

Daily Readings are passages from the bible.  The bible was written by people but inspired by God.  God speaks to us as individuals through the bible.  We can listen to God's Word at Sunday Mass and by reading the bible.  Sometimes we don't know where to begin reading in our bibles. Trust God to guide you. Try just opening your bible randomly and read the passage(s) on that page.  You can also read the daily Mass readings for the day at http://www.usccb.org/nab/    The daily readings and the Bible can help you to learn more about God and what He wants you to know.  Ask God to help you understand what you are reading.
